Bile salt activated lipase Cameron Siqueiros Glendale Community College   Protein – P19835 (Bile salt-activated lipase)   Description - Bile salt-activated lipase is a major triglyceride, cholesterol ester and vitamin ester hydrolytic enzyme contained within pancreatic and lactating mammary gland secretions. It requires bile salts for activation. The biological process of bile salt activated lipase is known as lipid metabolic process.   Molecular function – hydrolase activity acting on ester bonds.   Function – to catalyze the hydrolysis of a wide range of substrates including cholesteryl esters, phospholipids, lysopholipids, di-acylglycerols, tri-acylglycerols, and fatty acid esters of hydroxy fatty acids or (FAHFAS). Preferentially hydrolyzes FAHFAs with the ester bond further away from the carboxylate. Unsaturated FAHFAs are hydrolyzed quicker than saturated FAHFA. Plays an important role in complete digestion of dietary lipids and their...

Bile salt activated lipase Cameron Siqueiros Glendale Community College     Information from string-database   CEL - Bile salt-activated lipase; Catalyzes fat and vitamin absorption. Acts in concert with pancreatic lipase and colipase for the complete digestion of dietary triglycerides; Belongs to the type-B carboxylesterase/lipase family   LIPE - Hormone-sensitive lipase; In adipose tissue and heart, it primarily hydrolyzes stored triglycerides to free fatty acids, while in steroidogenic tissues, it principally converts cholesteryl esters to free cholesterol for steroid hormone production; Lipases   CTRL - Chymotrypsin-like protease CTRL-1; Chymotrypsin like; Belongs to the peptidase S1 family   CPA1 - Carboxypeptidase A1; Carboxypeptidase that catalyzes the release of a C- terminal amino acid, but has little or no action with -Asp, -Glu, -Arg, -Lys or -Pro; Belongs to the peptidase M14 family   PNLIP - Pa...

Cameron Siqueiros     Today I finished my first assignment of the protein bioinformatics project.  I was able to learn about the sequence, function, pathology, and interactions of my assigned protein.  My protein is P19835 Bile Salt activated Lipase (BLSS) . It's function is to catalyze the hydrolysis of different substrates and is an important protein for the digestion of dietary lipids. It is has a chain of 753 amino acids and weighs approximately 79,322 Da. It interacts with Galectin-10 which is an important factor for anergy and suppressive functions of CD25-positive regulatory T-cells. BLSS is also involved with maturity onset diabetes of the young 8 with exocrine dysfunction (MODY8). It is caused by a mutation in the CEL gene. I am looking forward to learning more about my protein.

This week I finished all of the animations for each direction and then implemented them in unity using a blend tree and used the previous movement code which now work super well and moves my character around animating in each direction. The blend tree isn't perfect I have a bug where the character will always face to the right when he is done moving, but I think the fix is changing some of the values in the movement code when the player is facing the other direction. The animations also don't always play for the forward and down movement which I assume is a similar situation to the player not facing the last known direction. The movement looks and feels really great and makes the game feel pretty polished for not being finished yet. The character can still shoot projectiles horizontally in one direction. Next week I will work on putting in the cursor and allowing the player to shoot in each direction. Once the player is done a little bit of polishing and then enemy code and I t...
